Sculptures in the Scrub

Travel Guide - The Sculptures in the Scrub are the most recent addition to Warrumbungle Region's landscape. The unique sculptures are set to be a popular tourist attraction at Dandry Gorge, in the heart of the Pilliga Forest, north of Coonabarabran. The impressive artworks are made from bronze, stone and stainless steel, with the largest creation standing up to 3.5 metres tall. The sculptures were developed by Australian artists Brett Garling, Col Henry and Ken Hutchinson and Aboriginal artist Badger Bates, and were funded by Gawambaraay Pilliga Co-management Committee. The sculptures have been strategically placed at Dandry Gorge to provide an opportunity for visitors to view these works of art against the beautiful vista of the Dandry Gorge and the ruggedness of the Pilliga scrub.
