Travel Guide - King River Rafting offers one day wilderness white water rafting through the King River Gorge and beyond. The trip starts in Queenstown at the Silver Hills Motel from where we travel a short distance south of Queenstown to the start of your raft trip at the King River Bridge.
From there we raft the King River through the King River Gorge and onwards along the quieter lower sections to finish 20 km later, at Lowana near Strahan. Highlights along the river include the Garfield River platypus pool, evidence of past miners and piners, thousands of Huon Pine trees, and a different view of the the West Coast Wilderness Railway. From Lowana our bus transports you back to Queenstown.
A sumptuous lunch is provided along with all the gear and clothing you will need. This summer we will be operating Tuesday to Saturday, from October to February, just see our website for more information. Trips are programmed to correspond with hydro electricity generation so there may be some variation in venue, programming and start times. See you next time at Travel Guide
