A walk along the banks of the Franklin and through cool temperate rainforest will give you an idea of the beauty that lies within the heart of this wild river wilderness. Those travelling on the Lyell Highway between Queenstown and Derwent Bridge will cross this iconic river around 60 kilometres east of Queenstown.
