Travel Guide - Edgecombe Wines is a family owned vineyard at Borenore near the Field Day Site. The vineyard was established in 1998 and is at an elevation of 830 metres with sweeping and picturesque views westward over the Lidster Valley. The vineyard is located on the famous red volcanic or Basalt soils, which are a feature of the region and a key factor in the region's reputation as a producer of outstanding quality fruit. Varieties at the Edgecombe Vineyard currently available include Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Arneis and Tempranillo will be available in 2013. First vintage was in 2002. In the past Edgecombe wines have been exported to China and Hong Kong. With the establishment of the Millthorpe Wine Centre attention can now be given to showcasing wines to the local community.
