Lake Bindegolly Circuit
Lake Bindegolly National Park, Thargomindah, QLD
Travel Guide - This track allows walkers to get close to Lake Bindegolly as it skirts the edge of the waterway then retreats to scrub-covered sand hills. An observation point is located at the edge of the lake for watching some of the 60 species of waterbirds that visit the park, including pelicans, swans and the rare freckled duck. The park was established in 1991 to protect the Acacia ammophila that grows along the sand dunes fringing the eastern side of the lakes. This is one of only two known populations of this gnarled tree that is threatened with extinction. Mulga-studded gibber plains rise to a ridge on the western side of the lake known locally as Mount Bindegolly. Grateful that you visited Travel Guide
