Travel Guide - Metal sculptures inspired by the work of Catalan artist Julio González. A friend and teacher of Picasso, González was the first artist to seriously explore the idea of welded metal as a medium for abstract sculpture. He referred to this new process as ‘drawing in space’.
The works in this exhibition are Prosser’s first works in a series exploring the González influence, to reference his lightness and grace and investigating colour as an expressive dimension. The works are intended to be displayed in a domestic environment. As few homes today have the space to accommodate large sculptures, these pieces have no more than a thirty-centimeter footprint.
Opening event 6:00pm Friday 4 November, 2016.
